Merimna Homes  is a year round program that provides year round housing and attendant care for adults with a developmental disability.  It is private pay as opposed to state funded.  Individuals cover most of the fees through a combination of social security income, wages from employment, and housing grants.  Merimna Homes is oriented to individuals with a moderate level of disability who can be on their own for portions of the day and can stay without staff overnight.  All homes have staff support for designated periods of the day. Each resident has a private bedroom but shares all other living space with up to four other adults.  Along with staff time the fees cover rent, utilities, food, transportation to group activities, and daily living supplies such as toiletries.
