Preparations are underway! The 10th Annual MDC Goldenrod Benefit Auction will be held Saturday, August 23, at our Middlebury location. This is one mile east of Middlebury on the corner of County Roads 16 and 43. All proceeds from the auction go to support our ministry to people with developmental disabilities and their families. We have changed the date of the auction because we heard from a number of people last year who, because of work, were unable to be there for the entire auction. By the time people got off work and came and ate the auction was already half over. We had requests to move the auction and we heard you. We appreciate your suggestions. It is very important to hear from people who care about this ministry. The tents will be open on Friday evening, August 22, at 6:30 for people to come and see the items that will be sold on Saturday. We will have snacks like the famous Jo Jo's Pretzels from Shipshewana, Indiana, delicious homemade pies, the fabulous homemade ice cream, the very tasty kettlekorn and this year we will also sell the famous Bologna and Guggisberg Cheese from Holmes County, Ohio on Friday night and Saturday morning. There will also be a musical program given by the Project Promise Chime Ringers on Friday evening for your enjoyment. You may walk through the display of quilts, see the awesome Amish and locally handcrafted wooden furniture and household items that will be sold in the live auction on Saturday morning. The silent auction items will be on display and will include amazing gift certificates, antiques, many smaller handmade wooden items as well as many other items. The schedule for Saturday is as follows:
