Grants to Help People with Disabilities through MDC Goldenrod
Elkhart County Community Foundation
March 2007 – a grant
of $5000 helped establish Horizon House, a partnership with Oaklawn and
Horizons of Hope (an Amish organization) to provide residential care for
10 adult Amish women with disabilities.
October 2007 – a grant
of $10,000 increased the number of people served by MDC Goldenrod by
upgrading computers and software and by providing technology training.
August 2008 – a grant
of $3,000 helped with MDC Goldenrod Board development.
August 2010 – a grant
of $4,000 helped increase the efficiency of MDC Goldenrod staff through
the purchase of payroll software and the renovation of office space.
The Fidler Family Foundation
January 2010 – a grant
of $2,000 helped purchase a new 12 passenger van to provide transportation
to medical care, job training, and skills training.
The Goshen Health System Community Benefit Fund
January 2010 – a grant
of $4,000 to subsidize the cost of medical care for 12 Merimna Home
residents.
April 2011- a grant of $6,000 to help with the cost of providing services for the Merimna Home residents.
